Apply to be a part of CWU's annual day of giving, #GiveCentral!
#GiveCentral is a 24-hour, university wide, day of giving where we will unlock the power of our Wildcat Community to fund your most innovative and creative projects. This year, the projects with the highest likelihood for impact will be approved to fundraise and featured on Thursday April 24, 2025. Before you apply, consider the following elements that make for a successful project and increase your likelihood of being approved: timeliness; an attainable goal (you can choose a dollar or donor goal; projects with a financial goal should not exceed $5,000 unless special circumstances apply); creativity; a motivated fundraising team; a plan for who you will solicit; a marketing strategy and approval from your college Dean or unit leadership. This year's theme is: #GiveCentral, because community grows futures. Consider how the project you are submitting not only impacts CWU students and programs now but helps CWU be a catalyst for positive change in the future. Deadline for submission is Friday, March 7. Determinations for project approvals will be sent out by Friday, March 14. We look forward to reviewing your projects and hope you can join us for #GiveCentral! For any questions, please reach out to the Director of Annual Giving, Kaitlyn Gottlieb.
Title of your fundraising idea. This is what donors will see on top of the page.
What is the purpose of your project? How will it impact a CWU program or students? How will funds be spent?
This is the amount you hope to raise or the number of donors you would like to participate. This goal should be realistic and attainable. The threshold for financial goals for #GC is $5,000 unless a special circumstance (specific donors, match/challenge gift) applies.
Do you have a team of at least 3-5 individuals to support these efforts? Remember, crowdfunding campaigns rely heavily on community engagement and support to succeed. You will also want to recruit "advocates" that will commit to share your cause with their own networks during #GiveCentral.
Who will you be reaching out to? How will you be marketing to them? If you plan to reach out to CWU alumni, faculty, staff or exisiting donors, we require an anticipated outreach list prior to campaign approval in order to help set expectations. If approved, the CWU Foundation will provide a final list with any necessary exclusions.
You should include the name and number of the Foundation Fund you hope to use during #GiveCentral. No new PID's will be created for #GiveCentral projects. If you have questions or are not sure what funds are available, please work with your Dean, your department accounting team or reach out to the Foundation for assitance.
What is your plan to thank and steward these donors? Are you prepared to reach out to everyone who gives to your campaign?
Have you consulted and received approval from your Dean/unit leader to apply for #GiveCentral? ALL projects must be approved by their respective college Dean/unit leader to be considered. Please send the form shared in the email calling for projects with your Dean/unit leaders signature to kaitlyn.gottlieb@cwu.edu upon submitting your #GC application.
